My name is Chima Okafor, and I am a registered nurse with experience in mother-baby, postpartum, newborn nursery, and pediatric care. Working with mothers and their babies has been a lifelong passion of mine. Since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to caring for families during some of the most precious and life-changing moments of their lives.
Throughout my nursing journey, I have developed a deep appreciation for the unique challenges that come with welcoming a baby, recovering after childbirth, and adjusting to motherhood. My experiences have shown me that families need more than medical care alone; they need reassurance, education, compassion, and someone they can trust. This inspired me to create Chi Baby Care, a service dedicated to providing personalized nursing support and helping families feel confident, supported, and cared for in the comfort of their own homes.
A little something personal about me: Before I was born, doctors told my mother that I would have spina bifida, a neural tube defect, and might never walk. They even advised her to consider terminating the pregnancy because of concerns about my future quality of life. My mother chose to continue the pregnancy, and I was born without spina bifida. In fact, I began walking at just seven months old! That story has stayed with me throughout my life. It reminds me that our journeys do not always unfold the way others predict, and that every family deserves compassion, encouragement, and the freedom to navigate their own path. As a nurse and the founder of Chi Baby Care, I carry that message into the care I provide. I want mothers to feel empowered rather than judged, supported rather than overwhelmed, and reminded that their journey is uniquely their own.
Through Chi Baby Care, my goal is to create an elevated, personalized experience where mothers feel nurtured, babies receive attentive care, and families feel confident as they navigate life with their newest addition. It is an honor to be welcomed into such an intimate and meaningful chapter of a family’s life, and I look forward to serving each family with the same compassion, dedication, and heart that inspired me to begin this journey.
